You are functioning perfectly and enjoying none of it.

You are getting things done. But every single thing you do has to be for something. Rest has to be productive rest. A bath has to be self care with a capital S. You cannot sit and simply like something without turning it into a task first.

That is not discipline, even though it feels like it. That is your sacral chakra, closed.

What the Sacral Chakra Handles

It sits just below your navel, and it runs the part of you that enjoys being alive.

Pleasure. Creativity. Sensuality. Emotion that moves instead of getting stuck. This is the chakra of flow, which means it is the one that dries up first when you spend a long stretch grinding.

When the root asks whether you are safe, the sacral asks whether you are enjoying any of this.

A Blocked Sacral Chakra Feels Like

  • Everything you do has to justify itself. Rest has to be earned.
  • You cannot remember the last thing you made that was not for work or for somebody else.
  • Your emotions come out sideways. Nothing for weeks, then everything at once over something small.
  • Sex, or your body generally, feels like one more thing to manage.
  • You are bored in a way that a new show does not fix.
  • You say you are fine and you are, technically, which is the problem.

You do not need all of that to be true. Two or three usually tells the whole story.

How to Find Your Balance

Move without a goal. Dance in your kitchen, take a walk with no step count. The sacral responds to movement that is not exercise.

Make something badly on purpose. The block is usually not creative, it is perfectionist.

Use your hands. This is the chakra most helped by making something physical, which is not a coincidence.

Water. A long bath, the ocean if you have it.

Amber, copper, gold. Carnelian and moonstone.
